Cosmetic Tattoo Aftercare Guide

Follow these instructions for optimal healing and long-lasting results

Day 1-3

Area may appear darker and more defined. Slight swelling and tenderness are normal. Keep clean and apply aftercare ointment as directed.

Day 4-7

Light flaking and peeling will occur. Color may appear lighter. Do not pick or scratch. Continue gentle cleansing and moisturizing.

Week 2-4

Color continues to settle and soften. True color will emerge. Skin is healing beneath the surface. Continue protecting from sun exposure.

Fully healed

Week 4-6

Tattoo is fully healed. Final color is visible. Touch-up appointment may be scheduled if needed. Continue using SPF for color longevity.

Cleansing

  • Gently cleanse with lukewarm water
  • Use a mild, fragrance-free cleanser
  • Pat dry with a clean towel
  • Cleanse 2-3 times daily

Moisturizing

  • Apply thin layer of aftercare balm
  • Use recommended healing ointment
  • Keep area moisturized but not saturated
  • Apply 2-3 times daily

Healing process

  • Allow natural healing and peeling
  • Keep hands clean before touching
  • Sleep on clean pillowcases
  • Avoid tight clothing on area

Sun protection

  • Use SPF 30+ after healing
  • Wear protective clothing
