To avoid any disappointment and to ensure the best possible results for your face, please ensure you are all clear to book in for a cosmetic tattoo treatment by reading through the eligibility.

• In Australia you must be 18 or over to receive any Cosmetic Tattoo treatment. If you are a parent/guardian and your child is under 16 and needs treatment due to medical reasons, please contact me directly to discuss.

• Due to safety reasons, any cosmetic tattoo treatment must be postponed until after birth. If you are breastfeeding, & wish to have a treatment, you are required to 'pump & dump' 48 hours post procedure due to the anaesthetics in the milk. We advise speaking with your GP first before making an informed decision. Topical Numbing agents are used with Lignocain 10% & Epinephrine .05%.

• Please be aware – just like normal body art tattoos, you cannot donate blood for the next 6 months.

• If you have any hormone imbalances or are actively taking any of the above types of medication, it may fade the cosmetic tattoo faster than normal. Treatment can still go ahead, but please keep this factor in mind when booking any appointment. Additional touch up appointments may be needed to keep your cosmetic tattoo looking fresh.

• Accutane - effects the integrity of the skin & will effect the healed results & colours if treatment takes place before the minimum wait time. If you have taken a low dose of 10mg for a certain period of time, you must wait a minimum of 6 months before treatment can take place. For a higher dose of 20mg, there is a minimum 12 months wait time. For even higher doses, you will often need longer than 12 months for the skin to get back to its 'normal state'. Please contact us if you have any questions.

• Allergies - If you are allergic to anything, please tell your artist when booking any appointment to ensure the treatment can still take place and it avoids any disappointment.

• Previous tattoo - If you have previous tattoo in the area It is essential that you mention this to your Artist when booking an appointment. She will request photos of the area to be sent through in good lighting BEFORE making an appointment. Previous cosmetic tattoo pigment must be light enough/faded adequately before booking another treatment. We cannot work over all existing cosmetic tattoo's and assessment must take place PRIOR to booking an appointment.

• Diabetes - If you have type 1 or type 2 Diabetes it does carry a risk when it comes to our treatments. Because our treatments create small shallow wounds, the healing of this can be complicated if your blood sugar is high. People with uncontrolled diabetes have poor wound healing because there is less oxygen supply to the tissues and fewer blood vessels.  Aside from this, elevated blood sugar makes you prone to infection, because it lowers your immune system.In short, having diabetes does not mean you can’t have a procedure done.  You just need to take ensure you have it controlled with medications. We ask that you consult with your GP first and get a clearance letter to provide if you wish to obtain treatment. 
  
  Blood thinners - Excess bleeding during treatment will cause poor colour retention and it will affect the healed result. If you are taking blood thinning medication for medical reasons, please contact your GP first before stopping. If taking Fish Oil tablets simply for general health and well being, please stop taking them for a minimum of 7 days prior to your appointment. You must advise your artist of all blood thinning medication PRIOR to booking your appointment.

• Moles - Please be aware, due to the safety of your skin, moles cannot be cosmetically tattooed over, and a 1-2mm gap must be left around it to ensure it is not disturbed. Please advise your artist of any moles prior to booking, as she will request a photo to be sent through.

Brow Tattoo & Microblading

• It is recommended to eat something before your appointment to make sure your blood sugar levels stay stable during the procedure
• Avoid alcohol for 24 hrs before your appointment. Alcohol can thin the blood, which can cause the skin to be hypersensitive and bleed easily.
• Avoid blood thinning medications for 72 hrs before your appointment. This includes ibuprofen, aspirin and fish oil tablets. Please consult your doctor if this is an issue.
• Make sure your face is not sunburnt
• Do not get brows waxed or tinted for 2 weeks prior to your appointment
• If considering Botox, it is best to have your brow tattooing done first. If having Botox before your treatment, please do this at least 2 weeks before your appointment
• If you have been taking acne medications such as Accutane or Retin-A within the last year you have an altered skin condition that will not heal well after the procedure. It’s very important that you wait a year before tattooing the skin. Retinol and Vitamin A are very similar and should be discontinued to use a month prior to the procedure.

Lips

The following directions are important in promoting a positive lip tattooing experience for you and your Artist, not to mention, better retention with the least pain and shortest tattooing time!

• 1 week before your lip tattoo appointment, speak with your GP or Pharmacist and ask for a dose of antiviral tablets for coldsores, even if you have never experienced coldsore outbreak. This is to minimise any risk of an outbreak. Be sure to take your tablet daily leading up to the appointment and 3 days after.
• 1 week before the appointment, apply lip balm daily and scrub your lips with an exfoliant twice a week
• NO alcohol or caffeine for 24 hours before the treatment
• NO skincare product containing retinal, AHA, vitamins A, C and E agents for 1-2 weeks before treatment
• STOP taking fish oil tablets (if you do) the moment you schedule your Lip tattoo appointment
• NO cosmetic injections on or around your lips areas for at least 2 weeks before treatment
• NO heavy workout or excessive sweat 24 hours before treatment
• wash your hair the day before
• bring with you inspiration photos to show your Artist on the day
• Relax, trust in your Artist and enjoy the experience

Please also ensure you are arriving to your appointment on time. Our Salons are very busy so we can only allow a grace period of no longer than 15 minutes. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we will have to cancel your appointment and you will have to reschedule.

• All treatments over $200 require a $50 deposit to secure your booking, if you fail to pay the deposit by due date, your appointment will be given to a client on our waitlist.

To be fair - We are a very busy salon with clients on our waitlist, deposits are a security payment in case you decide to not show up or you forget about your appointment.

If you cancel your appointment outside of our 6 hour required cancelation policy, we will keep your deposit as we have lost money by not being able to replace your appointment in time.

In the case of an unfortunate event - we will give you your deposit back.

Important Reminders

• Keep your tattoo as dry as possible for the first 7 days
• Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for the first 7 days 
• Avoid long, hot showers for the first 7 days
• Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 7 days
• Do not put skincare, makeup or sunscreen on your brows for the first 7 days. 
• Try and stay out of the sun or wear a hat for sun protection instead
• Avoid face-down swimming and hot tubs for the first 14 days
• Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks
• No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 2 weeks
• Do not rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin exfoliate away naturally. Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour

Organik Laser & Beauty use high quality topical anaesthetics to manage any discomfort, we also use pain gel during the treatment for extra comfort, however comfort thresholds vary widely from person to person. This is something that you should discuss at your consultation, and most women agree the results far outweigh any discomfort.

Cosmetic Tattoo can be very long lasting, and varies between individuals, which means, some skins hold colour better than others depending on medications and aftercare.

However the colour does metabolise and fade over time. To maintain their appearance many clients choose to refresh their colour occasionally, typically every 2-3 years.

Yes. If you wish you can draw the shape you desire, however, we will perfect the symmetry and balance the shape for you using our mapping string and ruler.

Yes – we have a wide variety of pigments and provide an almost endless choice, and at your consultation we will discuss all your options.

Basically, yes. It is the same procedure but a cosmetic tattooist uses a lighter, quieter machine called a rotary or digital pen and pigment lotions instead of ink.

When your brow tattoo starts to scab, it will look a lot darker. Once the scabs fall off, your brow tattoo will start to look more natural.

PLEASE DO NOT PICK AT YOUR SCABS OR YOU WILL CAUSE SCARING AND INK FALLOUT.

If you are not happy with your colour choice, we will fix this free of charge in your 6-8 week complimentary touch up.

Please note - We will always do your treatment using a lighter colour for the brows, we do this because if you go too dark first up, you can’t reverse it unless you get laser or saline treatments done on the brows to remove the ink, and this wouldn’t be a good experience for you. It’s best to trust your artist on the colour they think is best for you.
