Preparing for Your Treatment
Teeth whitening treatments are relatively straightforward, but there are a few steps you should take before you whiten your teeth. If you havenβt been to the dentist in six months or more, make sure to schedule your regular checkup before you make an appointment for your in-chair teeth whitening. Just like with any otherΒ oral treatment, your teeth and gums need to be healthy before you can receive it. Visiting your dentist for your regular checkup ensures you can catch and treat any oral health issues early. Additionally, while you should alwaysΒ Clean your teeth thoroughly with a good oral hygiene routine, try to really buckle down on it in the days leading up to your appointment.Β
We actually recommend that you eat shortly before your appointment, as you wonβt be able to eat during your whitening treatment. Since eating softens enamel, however, try to eat at least 30 minutes before your appointment starts and make sure to floss and brush your teeth very well before you leave for your appointment.
If you have dental restorations, like crowns or veneers, itβs wise to consider them before you get an in-chair whitening treatment. The porcelain material of dental restorations wonβt change shades along with your natural teeth. Your teeth may have yellowed since you got your crown or veneer, in which case you may want to simply bring your natural teeth back to the shade of your restoration. However, if your restoration matches the current shade of your teeth or if you wish to whiten them beyond that shade, you may want to plan to replace it after you have whitened your teeth. This prevents it from standing out as an oddly yellow tooth in comparison to your newly bright teeth.
Please also ensure you are arriving to your appointment on time. Our Salons are very busy so we can only allow a grace period of no longer than 15 minutes. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we will have to cancel your appointment and you will have to reschedule.

Some people are unsuitable for teeth whitening for the following reasons:
Highly sensitive teeth or gums
Inflamed or ulcers gums
Cavities or other dental problems that need to be treated before whitening can take place
Dental work such as crowns, bridges or fillings that will not whiten the same way as a natural tooth
Tooth discolouration through use of medication or a medical condition
If your teeth are a dark or grey which may prevent them from responding to teeth whitening treatments
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
Foods to Avoid After Teeth Whitening Treatment
Going through the procedure will cost you money, so you want to make sure the stunning result will last a long time. The first 48 hours after the treatment is critical. So you need to be more aware of your food intake as there are certain types ofΒ FoodΒ that discolour your teeth. Avoid them during this time.
These include but are not limited to the following:
- Tea and coffee.Β These brews can stain your teeth instantly
- Dark-coloured sauces.Β Avoid red pasta sauce, soy sauce, barbecue sauce
- Fruit juice.
- Dark chocolate could stain your teeth
- Acidic food.Β Lemons, oranges, and other citrus fruits should be avoided. These are acidic or sour foods can weaken your enamel
As a general rule of thumb, donβt eat any food or have any drink that will stain a white shirt for 48 hours after teeth whitening.
If you must insist on drinking coffee or soda or other dark-coloured drinks,Β just use a straw instead of sipping directly from your mug.Β By using a straw, the liquid will not come in contact with your teeth.Β

TEETH WHITENING
Teeth whitening is a simple dental process done to restore the natural colour of teeth by removing stains and discolouration from their surface. This minimally invasive procedure is quite popular among locals whose teeth have become yellowed over time due to different reasons, such as smoking, poor dental hygiene, aging, medications, and sugary foods/drinks, etc.
While most dental hygiene products contain active ingredients that whiten teeth, such as hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide, having your teeth professionally whitened by a trained beautician results in a higher-quality and long-lasting sparkle. Organik Laser & Beauty use whitening agents that arenβt commercially available in local stores and pharmacies.
